Brain Attack:
How to become stroke smart

Patricia Hurn, Ph.D.
What is a stroke? Why do more women die from stroke than men? Patricia Hurn, Ph.D., will help us learn the facts about stroke and what should be done as soon as the symptoms appear. Hurn is an associate Dean Faculty Development, School of Medicine, professor and vice chairman of Anesthesiology and director of the OHSU Research Center for Gender Based Medicine.

In loving memory of Betty Louise Jackson
Betty Louise Jackson was an accomplished pianist and singer,performing in choirs and light opera. Stroke took away these beautiful gifts. Her daughter strongly believes that creating awareness about stroke and its symptoms will help save lives.

The Heart Truth
Elizabeth Le, M.D., OHSU Division of Cardiology
The Heart Truth is that heart disease is the #1 killer of American women. In fact, one in four women dies of heart disease. Dr. Elizabeth Le guides us through getting to know our personal risk factors and taking action to improve our health in a presentation now available online. Dr. Le is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at OHSU and cardiologist at the Portland VA Medical Center.
